Health Insurance Slipping
Data on the number of people in this region who have health insurance coverage continues to show that Pittsburghers have higher coverage rates than the national population as a whole. The trend line, however, is not positive. From being very strong by national and benchmark norms on coverage, Pittsburgh has moved to a position of better than average but well below the best --- cities like Minneapolis.
An indicator that segregates the adult population under 65 is also provided to give a sense about how coverage compares when the elderly are not included in the measurements. The Pittsburgh region is at the mean in this second indicator.
